SECURITY
Logical Solutions implements a multi-layered security architecture to protect it’s networks and servers from malicious activity. We utilize products and technology from the recognized leaders in information security to provide a comprehensive framework for network protection that begins at the distribution layer of our secure data center. These information security partners include Cisco, Internet Security Systems (ISS), and RSA.
Our multi-layered approach uses a combination of firewalling, access control policies, intrusion prevention systems, and two-factor authentication systems to monitor and control network traffic and to stop attacks as they occur. It is our policy to restrict port access across all of our network address spaces and to restrict access at the application level, providing additional protection against attacks while still allowing the legal web and related traffic to pass.
In addition to the network and data related security measures above, our data center is located in a physically secure facilty with restricted physical access control and video monitoring in place.
BACKUP
Each managed server is on a strict backup schedule. LogicalSolutions.net utilizes a SDLT high-speed, high capacity backup server to perform full weekly backups and daily incremental backups of our entire network. This is critical to the rapid recovery of any hardware failure.
24/7 SERVER MONITORING
LogicalSolutions.net monitors all network points every minute of every day. Our network has both internal and external servers dedicated to monitoring the health of the network, with multiple methods of outbound notification in the event of any health issues. There are always a minimum of 2 people on call at any time, and are automatically notified in the event of any occurrences to insure fast response.
UPGRADES AND PATCHES
It is necessary to keep software up to date to defend against malicious activity, and LogicalSolutions.net remains on top of all of the latest updates and patches for the software and operating systems that exist on our network. LogicalSolutions.net is enrolled with Microsoft's Security Announcement Center to receive notification on when new software or updates are available. We also extend this service to our client's managed servers.
POWER REDUNDANCY
In the case of a power failure, our data center is protected 24/7/365 by a Data Center grade active UPS system that outputs a perfect sine-wave voltage, coupled to a standby diesel generator that has been oversized to our data center by a factor of five. This solution is tested on a regular basis and insures our 100% uptime even in the event of a power failure, regardless of duration. This failsafe was put to the test most recently during the rolling blackouts experienced in the “Great Northeast Power Blackout of 2003” and executed flawlessly providing instantaneous generator reaction and resulting in zero downtime.
